Complaining. Yes, I've done my share of it.
The lady at Starbucks put sugar in my coffee when I specifically asked for NO SUGAR! My neighbor's yard looks way better than my lawn. Ugh. Birthing two children sucked the calcium from my teeth, and now I have to use toothpaste for sensitive teeth.
Yes, there are many things I can complain about, but shouldn't. In reality, my problems are FIRST world problems--NOTHING compared to Third World problems. While the world falls apart around me, I have running water. Clean water. Warm water. A pantry full of food. My kids have never went to bed hungry. We go to church on Sundays and Wednesday evenings, never fearing to be persecuted or killed for our faith. We are free, wealthy, and full...and others are not.
Being grateful for all we have...all I have, isn't enough. I don't what to say "thank goodness I'm not one of those third world people." I want to stop complaining about my First World problems, and start changing the Third World problems.
What about you? What kind of changes do you think the world needs, and how are you gonna help make them happen?
Do everything without complaining and arguing, so that no one can criticize you. Live clean, innocent lives as children of God, shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people. Philippians 2:14-15
